A DAY IN THE LIFE
The life of a Brother of Saint Joseph is lived in communion with his Brothers. Our days are marked by periods of communal prayer, work, and formation. A typical day is structured like this:
7:15am - Communal Prayer
In communion with the global Church, we start our day by praying the Liturgy of the Hours together, preceded or followed by a time of silent mental prayer in our chapel.
7:45am - Morning Fraternity
After our time in prayer, we spend time in conversation with each other. This time is unstructured, joyful, and for the growth of friendship.
8:00am - Formation
Before we start our time of work, we devote many of our mornings to growth through communal Formation. These formation activities vary with the season and include spiritual, intellectual, physical, artistic, and various other activities.
9:00am - Work
The work day of a Brother, though shorter than many, is marked by focused dedication and a pursuit of excellence.
12:00pm - Angelus
At noon, we re-enter the chapel to pray the Angelus together, recalling God's gift of His incarnate Son to us and the world.
